Every month we will hold a random drawing with all the submitted stories and
we will hand out an LG 8x21 pair of binoculars to the winner.
We will also send a LG 10x25 pair of binoculars to the writer of the story which
will be selected by us to be published here.
The contest starts with the start of our new website in April 2008.

Elchjagd in Kanada/Francois Lake
Ich hatte mich im vergangenen Frühjahr dazu entschlossen, nochmals an den Francois Lake zu kommen, und im Herbst mein Jagdglück auf einen Elch zu versuchen.
Die Brunft ist in vollem Gange - in dieser Gegend ist das so Ende September / Anfang Oktober. Je nach Witterung kann sich das natürlich verschieben, denn wie unser Rothirsch liebt es auch der Elch kalt, wenn die Brunft so richtig anfangen soll.
Wir sitzen auf einem der vielen Hochsitze am Seeufer und versuchen, den Bullen aus der Dickung zu locken, rufen hin und her, wir hören ihn mit dem Geweih an den Büschen schlagen. Mein Luger Jagd Na 8x56 leistet ganze Arbeit: der erste Schuss sitzt.

I had decided to come again to the Francois Lake in the autumn to try my hunt luck on a moose.
In autumn the heat of the mooses starts. Of course this can shift a little bit, it depends on the weather, because like our red deer also the moose loves cold weather.
We sit on one of the many stands at the lakeshore and try to lure the bull from the thicket. We heard his antlers strike at the bushes…
